Adele Angleline Green, 89, of New Market, VA, formerly of Mt. Jackson, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Consolate Health Care in Woodstock, VA.
Mrs. Green was born on August 3, 1923 in Booneville, New York, daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Pastula. She was married on August 3, 1945 in Utica, NY to Herbert W. Green of Mt. Jackson, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers: Mitchell Kogut, Walter Kogut, and William Kogut and one sister: Veronica Torgrimsen
Surviving are her children, Herbert W. Green II and wife Vicki of New Market, VA, Robert W. Green and wife Sandra of Edinburg, VA , Joyce G. Sager and husband Scott of Mt. Jackson, Va and Matthew W. Green and wife Teresa of New Market, VA. , ten Grandchildren, eight Great- Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Green along with her husband, owned and operated the Virginia Restaurant in Mt. Jackson from 1945 until 1963. Later she worked for and retired from Aileen, Inc.
Mrs. Green was a great cook and you were always welcomed into her home for a meal or just to be part of her family. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and watching sports. She was a loving mother and grandmother who gave her whole heart to her family. She will be missed.
Pastor John Taylor will be officiating a private graveside service.
