Alan “Pelgie” Richard Jordan

Alan “Pelgie” Richard Jordan, 76, of Mt. Jackson, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Jordan was born February 24, 1938, son of the late Ira Vernon Jordan, Sr. and Dottie Lorraine Litten Jordan.

He served in the United States Army.

He was a retired supervisor with Hardy Telephone Company in Lost River, West Virginia.

He was a member of the Mt. Jackson Moose Lodge #979 and the New Market Fraternal Order of the Eagles # 4264.

He is survived by three children, Michael Alan Jordan of Mt. Jackson, Mindy J. Litten of Mt. Jackson and Tanya Breeden Glymph of Charlottesville, a sister, Charlotte Jordan Hulvey of Broadway; three brothers, Herbert Jordan of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Calvin S. Jordan and Dewey Jordan both of Mt. Jackson; and four grandchildren, Emily Jordan, Katie Jordan, Nicole Glymph and Mathes Glymph.

 Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Jordan, Jr.

Mr. Jordan has been cremated and will have a private burial as he requested.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Mt. Jackson Rescue and Fire Department, P.O. Box 251, Mt. Jackson, VA 22842.

Arrangements are by Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
