Alden Hope Jones

Alden Hope Jones, 82 of Woodstock passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Greenfield Senior Living in Woodstock. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 13, at 2 P.M. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens. Reverend Derek Ritenour will officiate.

Mr. Jones was born on November 11, 1931 in Conicville, VA. Son of the late Albert M. Jones and Ruth C. Helsley Jones. He was married to the late Imogene Fravel Jones. He was a very active member at Mt. Cavalry United Church of Christ. He was a member of Woodstock Moose Lodge #575. He graduated from Triplett High School. He enjoyed square dancing, music, and singing.

He is survived by three sons, Gregory Jones and wife Gayle, Randall Jones and wife Debbie, and Kendall Jones and wife Debbie all of Woodstock; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers

Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Whittington, Dennis Fravel, Carroll Fravel Sr., Gary Fravel, Steve Jones, Ralph Ritter, Jeff Jones, Gary Jones, Gordon Seibert, Elvin Walker, Ray Rau, and Weldon Miller.

The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon at the home place.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Cavalry United Church of Christ. 1299 Sheetz Mill Road Woodstock Virginia 22664.
