Bernice McKay, 86 of Woodstock died Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Golden Age Center.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, December 31, 2010, 10:00 am at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Edinburg.
Mrs. McKay was born March 3, 1924 in New York, New York. She was the daughter of the late Willard and Mary Pratt Risdon. She was a member of the 7 East Art Gallery, the National League of American Pen Women. Mrs. McKay received many art awards and conducted art classes in her home for 20 years. She has paintings in Greenfield of Woodstock, St. John Bosco Roman Catholic church, where she was a member, and the Woodstock Museum. Mrs. McKay was a modest lady that allowed the paintings to speak for themselves.
Mrs. McKay is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Gilmore McKay of Woodstock, two sons, Robert B. McKay of Ringwood, NJ, and Richard W. McKay of Pearville, TX; a sister, Jacqueline Davis of Edinburg; and a brother, Willard Risdon of Toledo, OH; Three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 4 to 7:30 pm, when a Christian Wake service will begin.
