Betty Catharine Cook, 84 of Woodstock, Our loving Mother, and wife went to her eternal home on August 30, 2011 with her family at her side.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011, 2:00 PM at the St. Luke Brethren Church by Rev. Ronald Stiefel and Rev. Freddie Helsley. Burial will follow at St. Luke Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was born October 21, 1926 in Shenandoah County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Ruben and Nettie Rudy Kibler. She was a graduate of the Woodstock High School Class of 1946 and attended the Palmer Business School. She was employed at the Agriculture Office for 6 years. Mrs. Cook was a member of the St. Luke Brethren Church, where she served in various offices, was a Sunday School Teacher, and attended the Cedar Creek Christian Church. She ministered and assisted her husband and others with a ministry in music. She enjoyed being a creative seamstress.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Jacob Kibler.
She is survived by her husband of sixty- two years, Paul W. Cook of Woodstock, a son, Roger L. Cook and his wife, Sharon of Woodstock; three daughters, Brenda Weaver and her husband, Charles , Judy Hodson and her husband, Russell, and Barbara Fadley and her husband, James, all of Woodstock; two sisters, Ann Dellinger of Woodstock and Peggy Brown and her husband, James of Rockville, Maryland; a brother, Glenn Kibler and his wife, Sarah of Maurertown; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 PM at the Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock.
Pallbearers will be Richard Williams, Al Houston, Anthony Eden, Carson Shipp, Alvin Cook, and Jim Racey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold (Duke) and Robin and Cathy Racey, John and Mary Beeton, Jim Kibler, Delmar and Beverly Weaver.
