“BJ” Beverly Jay Smith, Jr.

Beverly “BJ” Jay Smith, Jr. 28 of Edinburg, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.

Mr. Smith was born December 24, 1987 in Harrisonburg, son of Beverly Jay and Michele Kagey Smith of Edinburg.

Also surviviing are a son, Joshua Power; two sisters, Brittany Smith and Mary Bair and her husband Chris; a brother, Ryan Smith; five nieces,, Julia Binion, Danika Pieratt, Lacey Kagey, Leigha Kagey, Jaelynn Bair; three nephews, Drew Binion, Lukas Kagey and Drake Bair.

He is also survived by his grandfather, Ralph Kagey and many, many friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Matthew and Bryan Smith, grandparents, Delores Kagey and Ward and Shirley Smith.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with Pastor Glen Turner officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service until 4 p.m.

    We are so shocked and sad to hear BJ is gone! We are so very sorry and wish there were words to help ease the pain. Our love and prayers are with you all. BJ was a pleasure to spend time with. I really enjoyed spending time with him at Ashby Lee. He was always kind and respectful and always had a smile on his face making everyone around hin feel happy.
