Bobby H. Hansberger, 79 of Edinburg, died peacefully surrounded by his family Friday, March 16, 2012.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, 1:00 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Kathryn Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hansberger was born at Jerome, Virginia on December 19, 1932, the son of the late James Franklin and Hattie Funkhouser Hansberger. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. Mr. Hansberger retired as a welder-fabricator with the Federal Government with 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jerome.
Mr. Hansberger is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Hansberger of Edinburg; two sons, Neil Hansberger of Sterling and Eric Hansberger of Woodbine, MD; a daughter, Brenda Evans of Pasadena, MD; one sister, Louise Hawkins of Edinburg; a brother, Buford Hansberger of Severn, MD; twelve grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, VA.
Pallbearers will be James Evans, Christopher Evans, Joseph Hansberger- Evans, Wayne Hawkins, Gary Pritchett, and Gerald Hawkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bethany Hansberger, Rachel Hansberger, Amanda Hansberger, David Hansberger, Kevin Hansberger, and Kyle Hansberger.
