Calamese Josephine Reddy Seal

Calamese Josephine Reedy Seal, 96, of Maurertown passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Life Care Center in New Market where she had been for four years and loved by many there.

A graveside service will be held Monday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock. By Rev. Robert Throckmorton.

Calamese was born March 14, 1918 in Toms Brook, VA, daughter of the late Kirby and Ada Spence Reedy.  She was a member of the Toms Brook United Methodist Church for over 60 years.  She was faithful in her church and loved her family deeply.

Surviving are her husband of 76 years, Raymond Seal of Maurertown; daughter, Linda Midkiff and husband Douglas of Woodstock; grandchildren, Randy Seal of Maurertown, Shelly Walker and husband Barry of Strasburg, Jason Seal and wife Marlena of Mt. Jackson and Curtis Midkiff and wife Angie of Chesapeake, VA and seven great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Dennis “Denny” Seal.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Toms Brook United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 99, Toms Brook, VA 22660.

    Linda, Doug and Mr. Seal, I was sorry to see your loss. I stopped to see her on Dec. 8th and she was asleep in her wheel chair. I nudged her shoulder lightly but she did not waken so I went on. Peace be with you and may she rest in peace.
