Catherine Louise Burner, 80, of Edinburg, died Monday, February 23, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Burner was born April 21, 1934 in Shenandoah County, daughter of the late Russell and Minnie Alkire Dudley.
She was in the L.P.N. graduating class of 1968. She had been employed at the Mt. Jackson Medical Center for 16 years
She was a co-founding member of The Lord’s Chapel Church for 33 years in Edinburg and was a lover of First Baptist Church , serving there for two years.
She was married September 15, 1967 to Everett Harold Burner who survives. Also surviving are four daughters Diane Sibert and husband Gerald of Mt. Jackson, Teresa Orndorff and husband Charles of Strasburg, Eugenia Biller and husband Gary of Toms Brook and Cathy Dempsey of Decator, Alabama; a brother, Gene Alkire of Edinburg; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Burner was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Coates and two brothers, William Alkire and Charlie Dudley
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Woodstock with Pastor Darryl George and Brother Doug Gochenour officiating. Burial will follow at Union Forge Cemetery in Edinburg.
Pallbearers will be Frank Yeager, Ronnie Tarkett, Lee Stoneburner, Glenn Shelton, Wayne Herald and Steve Buechling.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
