Cledith Erven Baker

Cledith Erven Baker, 87, of Mt. Jackson passed away Sunday, November 04, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Baker was born August 9, 1925 in Quicksburg, son of the late Medford Ray and Armetta S. Foley Baker.

He served in the United States Army during W.W. II. He was a U.S. Special Policman with the C.I.A. in Langley, VA. He also was a former part time policeman in Mt. Jackson.

He was a member of Valley Central Church in New Market.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Bauserman Baker whom he married July 13, 1959. Also surviving are two sons, Steven Baker and wife Nona of Mt. Jackson and Franklin Baker and wife Liz of Basye; four daughters, Sonja Miller and husband Curtis “Zeke” of Mt. Jackson, Sheila Dean and husband Jeff of Elkton, Gail Poston and husband Jerry of Hephzibah, Georgia and Toni Lynn Shirkey and Jeff Shirkey both of Mt. Jackson; a sister, Aileen Smallwood of Arlington; 15 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with Rev. James Burke and Rev. William Shifflett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Jackson Cemetery with Military Honors by Muhlenberg Post # 199  American Legion Woodstock.

Pallbearers will be Richard Minton, Bobby Biller, Jerry Biller, Roger Rudy, J.D. Fadley and Zack Carper.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
