Clota Buchanan Campbell, 79 of New Market, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Campbell was born January 24, 1936 in Mt. Jackson, daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Ola Hottinger Buchanan
Mrs. Campbell was a graduate of Blue Ridge Community College.
She was a substitute teacher for Shenandoah and Page County school districts. Her community service included over 30 years as 4 H leader. A long tenure as a church leader in the Brethren faith. Services that included Women’s Fellowship president, choir director, council member and numerous committees.
She was married August 1, 1953 to Leonard Earl Campbell who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Clota Ann Hinkle and husband Larry of New Market and Sandy Cyphert and husband Charles of Shenandoah; two sons Leonard Lee Campbell and wife Kathy of Louisa and James Wayne Campbell and wife Cindy of Woodstock; two sisters, Mildred Good of Richmond and Rosalie Walker of New Market; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Rufus Campbell.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Wood’s Chapel Independent Bible Church with Rev. Tim Miller and Rev. Doug Gochenour officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery in Forestville.
Pallbearers will be J. W. Campbell II, Joshua Campbell, Alexander Campbell, Steve Campbell, Keith Walker and Buddy Good.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
