Clyde Richard Cooley

Clyde Richard Cooley, 72 of Maurertown passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Winchester Medical Center. Services will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Burial will follow at Valley Pike Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Maurertown, Virginia. Pastor Dale Bowers will officiate.

Clyde was born October 3, 1942 in Fravel Hospital, Woodstock, Virginia. He was the son of the late Paul Cooley Sr. and Tersey Barb Cooley. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Cooley. He was a member of the Edinburg United Church of Christ and attended Edinburg High School, drove as a stuntman for Joey Chitwood Thrill Show from the late 1950’s to mid-1960’s. He retired after 30 plus years with Aileen Inc. in Edinburg division. Clyde enjoyed traveling abroad and within the U.S. He was a member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge 575.

Clyde is survived by his companion, Mildred Gochenour, 2 brothers, Paul Cooley Jr. (Thu-huong) Sterling, Virginia, and Dennis Cooley (Pam) Cocoa, Florida; 2 sisters, Linda Hammill Danville, Virginia and Penny Cooley West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Linda Cooley Wardensville, West Virginia, and 4 nephews and 1 niece.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 25, at the funeral home from 7-8.

Pallbearers will be, Stacey Vormbrock, Jerry Hines, Jerry Hanson, Danny Dellinger, Mark Pangle, John Neff, David Gochenour, and Bob Fadely. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Harold Huttner, Linden Wakeman, Tony John, Dave Weaver, Dudley Miller, Tim Carter, William Logan, Kirby Ortts, Ronnie Riffey, Roy Wimmer, Wayne Price and his favorite dog, Chevy.
