Dennis “Richard” Donak, II of Luray, VA, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away on July 25, 2016 in Front Royal, VA. Richard was born November 14, 1979 in Woodstock, VA to Dennis R. Donak, Sr and Nancy Linaburg Donak. He was a 1997 graduate of Luray High School and an alumni of Lord Fairfax Community College.
Richard was a member of the Randolph Macon Academy staff in Front Royal where he worked for 25 years. Richard was brilliant with computers and he is credited with writing the programs currently used for student records.
Outside of RMA, Richard’s passion was the family farm where he found peace and shared his love of agriculture with his father. Richard especially enjoyed harvest time each year and running the combine. He had a talent for welding, diagnosing, and fixing equipment that will surely be missed.
Beside his parents, Richard is survived by a sister Carrie Currence and husband Mark, a brother Aaron Katz and wife Kristi, two very special nephews, Daniel and Thomas Currence and a niece Lesley Katz. He is preceded in death by grandparents Clyde & Edna Linaburg, Vada and Martha Donak.
Richard will lay at rest at the family farm located at 1606 Stonyman Road in Luray prior to the day of service. Services will be led by Pastor Buz Mendhart and Reverend Michael Williams, RMA Chaplain on Saturday, July 30 at the Luray Seventh-day Adventist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm with the service beginning at 4pm. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Church Cemetery in Luray where Richard will await our Lord’s return.
