Donald R. Fuller, 85, of Harrisonburg and formerly of New Market, VA. and Calverton, MD. passed away Wednesday morning, July 13, 2016 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
He was born June 19, 1931 in Washington, D.C. and was the son of the late W. Rogers and Laura M. Fuller.
Don was in the insurance business for over 40 years where he was an agent, manager and field trainer. He won many national, as well as, company awards.
After a short retirement, Donald went on to consult for two other companies but was called back to his former company and would continue to work for another five years before retiring again.
Mr. Fuller was a member of the Burlington Masonic Lodge of Knoxville, TN. for 55 years.
While Donald and his wife, Shirley resided in New Market, he served on the board of directors for Dominion Bank of Front Royal, VA. and was also on the New Market Town Council.
Donald is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Fuller (Pugh) along with three children, W. Rogers Fuller, Brian K. Fuller and his wife, Mary and Melanie A. Souza and her husband, Brian. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Melissa and her husband, Ricky, Brian Jr. and his wife, Megan, Gerrit and his wife, Samantha and Jason. He also leaves behind a great grandson, Nathan. Don is also survived by three sisters; Charlotte Cox, Carolyn Biggs and Jane Fisher.
The Rev. Bruce Johnson and Mr. Winston Wenger will conduct a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18 at Manor Memorial United Methodist Church in New Market. Interment will be at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. on Tuesday.
The Fuller Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Theis Funeral Chapel in New Market.
