Doris Josephine Schebler, 82, of Edinburg, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, VA. A memorial talk will be given Saturday, January 21, at 4:00 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 16555 Old Valley Pike, Edinburg, VA with James Woodward presiding. Burial will be Monday, January 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY.
Mrs. Schebler was born April 10, 1929 in Maspeth, Queens, NY., daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Waldheim Poye. Doris was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Schebler whom she married on June 10, 1950 and a brother, Joseph Noel Poye.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Warren Schebler and his wife, Diane of Miller Place, NY.; daughter Diane Lorraine Barreres and her husband, Mark of Edinburg; two sisters, Sylvia Poye Sofia of Bellmore, NY., and Isabelle Poye Kofoed; two grandchildren, Daniel Joseph Schebler and his wife, Courtney and Jodi Lisa Dorsey and her husband, Corey; two great grandchildren, Peyton Schebler and Rivienne Schebler; niece, Cyndie Fitzgerald and nephew, Lewis Sofia.
Doris was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
