Edward “Ed” Michael Hamman, 75, of Edinburg, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10th from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wakeman’s Grove Church of the Brethren in Edinburg. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Mark Bowyer will officiate. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock.
Mr. Hamman was born May 27, 1940 in Woodstock, son of the late Maynard A. and Grace Stoner Hamman. He was a 1958 graduate of Woodstock High School and retired from Safeway after 30 plus years. He was a member of Wakeman’s Grove Church and an avid horseman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon M. Hamman.
Ed is survived by a son, Michael M. Hamman and wife LeAnn of Winchester; two daughters, April A. Baker and husband Philip of Edinburg and Kim Dysart and husband Darin of Woodstock; one sister, Nancy Matheney of Winchester; six grandchildren, Casey Hamman, Kirk Hamman, Cole Baker, Brady Baker, Lacey Dysart and Emily Dysart.
