Edward Roger Bowman

Edward Roger Bowman, 80 of Harrisonburg, died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Bowman was born June 29, 1936 in Shenandoah County, son of the late Edward T. and Emma Lou Proctor Bowman.

Mr. Bowman was a D. C. Fire Inspector prior to his retirement.

He served in the United States Army.

He was a member of Manor Memorial United Methodist Church in New Market.

Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Osborne Bowman, February 10, 2016 who he married October 8, 1966.

He is survived by a daughter, Kristin Bowman of Philadelphia, PA; and a sister, Margaret Ann Smyser of Edinburg.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Manor Memorial United Methodist Church in New Market with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens west of Mt. Jackson.

Pallbearers will be Richard, Smyser, Walter Smyser, Craig Smyser, Steve Sroka, Bob Hughes and Jim Bowen.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
