Elizabeth Showman Ryman

Elizabeth Showman Ryman, 89 of Mt. Jackson, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Timberview Crossing Adult Home in Timberville.

Mrs. Ryman was born May 6, 1923 in Harmony, Virginia, daughter of the late John Lester and Jocelia Sheetz Showman.

She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ at Timberville.

She was married January 25, 1942 to Lewis F. Ryman who predeceased her May 5, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters Sylvia R. Waters of Floyd and Barbara Ryman of Farmville; a son, Cecil Ryman and his wife, Wilma of Timberville; a brother, John Lester Showman, Jr. of Arlington; five grandchildren, Lori W. Summers, Melissa W. Spence, Susan R. Fox, David Ryman and Beth R. Hinegardner; 13 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ryman is also predeceased by a son-in-law, J. Conway Waters, Jr. and a grandson, J.C. Waters III; two sisters, Algie Dellinger and Gladys Hansberger; and three brothers, Ray Showman, Bill Showman and Calvin Showman.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock with the Rev. Joel Walkley officiating.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Terry Showman, John Showman III, Kevin Showman, Ricky Showman, Bobby Showman, John Showman and Jeff Showman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p. m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
