Ellanora Christina McClanahan

Ellanora Christina McClanahan, 95, of Fort Valley, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.  The funeral will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00 at Faith Lutheran Church in Fort Valley.  Pastor Shelby DePriest will officiate.  Burial will be private in Clem-Golladay Cemetery in Fort Valley. A meal will follow at the Fort Valley Fire Hall immediately after church service.

Mrs. McClanahan was born November 30, 1919 in Fort Valley, daughter of the late Phillip Elmer Heishman Sr. and Melinda Caroline Elizabeth Carpenter Heishman.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher, organist and pre-school volunteer.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert McClanahan; son, Elmo Mantz; sister, Charlotte Gingerich, a grandchild and 3 great grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Caroline Mantz Juliano of Woodstock, Carol Mantz Stephens and husband Jerry of Fort Valley, William Franklin Mantz and wife Jennifer of Fort Valley and Debra Mantz Crisman and husband Philip Jr. of Fort Valley; a daughter in law, Shelvie Mantz of Fort Valley; sisters and brothers, Ruth Hollar of Woodstock, Philip E. Heishman Jr. and wife Jeannie of Edinburg, Mildred Phylis Ciuffreda of Fort Valley, Charles Heishman and wife Patsy of Fort Valley and Cecil Heishman and wife Maureda of Fort Valley; and combined she had 112 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Well done good and faithful servant.

Pallbearers will be Trent Stephens, Philip Crisman III, Rockland Ritenour, Jeremy Mantz, Ford Mantz and Christopher Stephens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Ritenour, Jamie Mantz, Rex Mantz, Matt Mantz and Seth Mantz.

The family will receive friends’ Wednesday evening from 6-8 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Blue Ridge Hospice.
