Evelyn Frances Acors

Evelyn Frances Acors, 95 of Mt. Jackson, died Friday, August 19, 2011 at the home of her daughter.

She was born April 6, 1916 in Richmond, daughter of the late L. Edgar and Annie Laurie Goolsby Garland.

Mrs. Acors was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond and sent cards to Sunday School members.

She is survived by two daughters, Janis Scruggs of Mt. Jackson and Marlene and her husband Ed Ray of Fredericksburg; a sister, Eleanor Campor of Roanoke; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Monday at 5 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with Pastor Kathryn Schroeder officiating. Burial will be Sunday at Fairview Cemetery in Buchanan, VA.

    Aunt Evelyn was such a joy. She had a beautiful laugh. Always had a concern for others. Her FAITH was appparent in her blessed life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond where she lived most of her life. In her last letter to me she wrote about her Church membership and being a member of the Eastern Stars.Mother, her sister, will miss their almost weekly letters or calls. God Bless……
