Fleta Isabell Tamkin Boyer

Fleta Isabell Tamkin Boyer, 92, of Alexandria and formerly of Fort Valley passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Capital Caring Hospice in Arlington.  The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Dry Run Christian Church in Fort Valley.  Reverend Al Lawrence will officiate.  Burial will follow in Detrick Cemetery in Fort Valley.

Mrs. Boyer was born August 21, 1919 in Seven Fountains, Virginia daughter of the late Edwin McKinley and Marybelle Ritenour Tamkin.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Franklin Boyer and three siblings, Leroy Tamkin, Fay Coates and Paul Tamkin.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald F. Boyer of Alexandria and Kevin R. Boyer and his wife, Vicky Crosson of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter, Carolyn M. Kramer and husband, Barton of Springfield, Virginia; two sisters, Mazie Cullers of Seven Fountains and Clemence Bruce of Front Royal; five grandchildren, Todd, Brian, and Scott Kramer and Anna and Maria Boyer and two great grandchildren, Addison and James Kramer.

Pallbearers will be Edwin Tamkin, Troy Tamkin, Kent Tamkin, Martin Cullers, Wayne Cullers, Lonnie Cullers, and Eddie Ritenour.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Capital Caring Hospice, Arlington, VA;  Dry Run Christian Church, Fort Valley, VA; or Fort Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Fort Valley, VA.
