Garline Ryan Thompson of Woodstock, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Skyline Terrace Nursing Home in Woodstock.
Mrs. Thompson was born January 9, 1920 in Conicville, daughter of the late Kirby Eldridge and Virginia Dellinger Ryan.
She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Edinburg.and a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She was married June 6, 1936 to William L. Thompson who preceded her in death September 11, 1972.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by two daughters, Frances T. Miller and husband Kevin G. Miller, Sr. of Harrisonburg and Judy T. Litten of Woodstock; one sister, Margaret Funkhouser of Woodstock; two brothers, Johnny Ryan of Timberville and Richard Ryan of New Market; four grandchildren, Stephanie Schaefer and husband Jay of Waynesboro, K. G. Miller, Jr of Harrisonburg , Daren Wayne Litten and Jeffery A. Litten both of Woodstock; two great grandchildren, Emily Litten of Woodstock and Carly Litten of Mt. Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lora Miller, a son-in-law, Phillip W. Litten, two sisters, Erma Fadely and Doris Lambert and two brothers, Buck Ryan and Bill Ryan.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Edinburg with the Rev. K. Roy Nilsen D. Min officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
