Garnet Ray Tusing

Garnet Ray Tusing, 84, of Middletown, Virginia passed away March 27, 2011 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Mr. Tusing was born in Mt. Jackson, Virginia, the son of the late Samuel and Ressie Showman Tusing. His wife Dorothy Shockley Tusing preceded him in death in March of 1997.
A graveside service will be held at Hudson Cross Roads Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 by Rev. Howard Lutz.
Garnet was a barber for 58 years in Arlington, Virginia and at Larry’s Barber Shop in Edinburg. He was past President of the Arlington County Barber Board and past Secretary and Treasurer of the Arlington County Barber’s Association. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of Massanutten Post 2447 VFW. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ at Hudson’s Cross Roads and also a member of Graham Road United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Tredon (Thomas) and Tamara Bosacco (Robert), all of Stephens City; one son, Lonnie Tusing of New Market; four grandchildren, Connie Butler, Alyson Caudill (Mike), Anthony Tredon (Nichole), Robby Bosacco (Katie); and five great-grandchildren, Claire, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Jeremy and Emily.
Family and friends will meet at Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson Monday at 6:00 p.m.
