Mrs Glenda Jane Shafer, 53 of Edinburg, died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Shafer was born July 15, 1957 at Harrisonburg, daughter of the late Willard and Betty Jane Turner Reedy and was raised by her grandmother Ada Mae Reedy.
Mrs. Shafer was a member of Stoney Creek Church of the Brethren. She loved helping in the church and being a Sunday School teacher, cooking for her family and yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger L. Shafer, Sr. October 29, 2003. She is survived by her fiancé, Scott Tisinger of Edinburg; two sons, James “Buckwheat” Shafer of Singers Glen and Richard Shafer of Rockingham County; two daughters, Lisa Lonas and Holly Shafer both of Mt. Jackson;two sisters; three brothers including Nelson Reedy of Singers Glen; and 13 grandchildren.
Mrs. Shafer was also preceded in death by two sons, Roger “Porky” Shafer, Jr. and Bobby Shafer.
A graveside service will be Monday at 12 noon at Stoney Creek Church Cemetery at Basye with the Rev. Louie Shafer officiating.
Pallbearers will be Scott Tisinger, James Shafer, Nelson Reedy, Carl Smith, Mike Foley and Kirk French.
The family will receive friends 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
