Guy Emery Harpine, 91, of Quicksburg, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Harping was born July 15, 1919 at Moores Store, son of the late Emery and Minnie Branner Harpine.
He was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church at Quicksburg. He had worked 17 years at Mundy Rock Quarry, drove for Rockingham Poultry for 17 years and for the last 25 years prior to his retirement he was a bus driver for Shenandoah County Public Schools.
He is survived by his wife Cornell Halterman Harpine whom he married December 2, 1938. He is also survived by a daughter, Virginia Coffman and husband Roland of Quicksburg; adopted daughter, Ann Tolliver and husband Bob of Chesterfield; a son Roger Harpine and wife Beulah of Fulks Run; a grandson whom they raised,Jeffery Kagey and wife Roberta of Timberville; a brother, Waldo Harpine of Whiting, New Jersey; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and foster children.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Solomon Lutheran Church with Pastor Susan L. Lance officiating. Burial will follow at Solomon Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
