James Littleton Croson, 76, of Woodstock, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Pastor Dave Casto will officiate. Burial will follow in Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas.
Mr. Croson was born December 8, 1934 in Burke, VA, son of the late Roy Littleton and Annie Mae Beach Croson. He was a self-employed brick mason in Northern Virginia for 34 years, worked for the Washington Post and a poultry farmer in Edinburg. He was a former member of Fairfax Fire Department and attended Ferrum College. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Croson.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Anderson of Winchester, VA and Julee Mae Nist of New Jersey; son, James Troy Croson of Winchester, VA; two half brothers, Kenneth Alton Poole of Orlean, VA and Wayne Bernard Poole of Warrenton, VA and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
