Jeanne Lynn Veney

Jeanne Lynn Veney, 63, of Bridgewater and formerly of Mt. Jackson, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at her home.

She was born December 12, 1951, daughter of Roland H. Walters of Mt. Jackson and the late Barbara Jean Olinger Walters.

She was a 1970 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Mt. Jackson.

Ms Veney was employed at R.R. Donnelley in Harrisonburg.

She was a member of Newport Church of the Brethren in Shenandoah.

Ms Veney is survived by her long time partner, Dave Sisson; two daughters, Marcia Munoz and her husband Shawn of Burtonsville, MD; Wendy Veney and her fiance, Steve Kozak of Charles Town, WVA ; two brothers, Roland Keith Walters of Florida and William Irvin “Butch” Walters of Woodstock; four grandchildren, Jace Munoz, Cade Munoz, Gavi Munoz and Olive Kozak.

A memorial service will be Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Newport Church of the Brethren in Shenandoah with Pastor Kent Bennett officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday January 15, 2015 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.

    Jeanne was always a very sweet person, she lived in Salem with two small girls the last time I saw her. We were related by marriage but she will always be my cousin, I’m going to miss her and heaven has a new angel.

    Jeanne was such a joy and a pleasure. I got to know her through my husband Ted, she was his secretary. She kept us always laughing and his office organized.
