Jeffery Matthew Poole

Jeffery Matthew Poole, 42, of Mt. Jackson, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. Poole was born April 9, 1970 in Woodstock, son of the late Ralph Frederick and Alma Helena Cornwell Poole.

He was a 1988 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. He was fleet manager of Cargill Distribution Center. He served as Prelate and Junior Governor for the Mt. Jackson Moose Lodge No. 979, and was a volunteer with the Mt. Jackson Rescue and Fire Department and on the committee for the Mt. Jackson Festival Foundation. He was a Honorary Chapter Member of F.F.A.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Leake Poole; three daughters, Rachael Poole, Mattie and Megan Poole all of Mt. Jackson ; a son, Aaron Poole of Mt. Jackson; and three sisters, Diane Hinson and Connie Wimer both of Edinburg and Bonnie Frye of Mt. Jackson.

He was predeceased by a brother, Chuck Poole.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Columbia Furnace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Furnace Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Neal Snoddy, Tim Hartman, Randy Meade, Kenny McKenzie, Bryan Gochenour and Michael Gochenour.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Shawn Poole, Rick Funkhouser, Dale Painter, Joe Wilkins, George Shifflett and David Streett.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.

    Becky and Family. I was so sorry to hear about your loss of your husband. I only met you a couple of times through my daughter, Denise Prunka, but she was keeping me up to date on his condition. I feel so bad because he was so young. Just know that he is no longer in pain. You will find strength through your children, family and friends.

    I used to work with Jeff many years ago at Rocco Farm Foods driving tractor and trailer. I always enjoyed talking to Jeff and getting to know him. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, may the grace and love of our Lord see you, his family and friends through this difficult time. You are in my prayers.
