John William “Bill” Wilkins

John William “Bill” Wilkins, 68, of Woodstock, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.  The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.  Pastor Mary Louise Brown will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery.

Mr. Wilkins was born May 3, 1946 in Woodstock, son of the late Richard G. and Helen Gochenour Wilkins.  He was a 1964 graduate of Central High School.  He was a farmer and worked at Woodstock Aileen for over 20 years.  He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Wilkins; sister, Jean R. Dunn of Woodstock; brother, Richard L. Wilkins and wife Pam of Harrisonburg.

Pallbearers will be Jason Strosnider, Blake Strosnider, Ryan Andes, Merlin Halterman, Bill Wetzel and Doug Miller.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home or anytime at the Wilkin’s home.

    So very sorry to hear of a classmate’s passing.Fifty one years ago we graduated from high school .I haven’t seen him since the night we graduated from CHS.John was a friendly person and I counted him as a friend in school. May the Good Lord hold his family tight.

    We will miss John coming up the road on his fancy ATV with who knows what in the back for us to look at. We will miss laughter with him over silly animal antics (calves, cats, dogs and pesky groundhogs). We always shared our garden with him and Betty. Betty I hope you know we are always there for you now and later and love you like our neighbor Mom.
