John William Huss

John William Huss, 57, of Woodstock, passed away Monday, January 28 at his home.  The memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodstock United Methodist Church.  Reverend John Cooper will officiate.

Mr. Huss was born August 6, 1955 in Woodstock, son of Maurine Johnson Huss of Woodstock and the late William John Huss.   He was a 1975 graduate of Central High School and had been a member of boy Scout Troop 88. He was a member of Woodstock United Methodist Church, Sons of the American Legion Post 199 and an  active member of the Shenandoah County Democratic Party  He had worked at Hepner Brothers in Mt. Jackson. He donated blood to the American Red Cross and an avid NASCAR fan.  He loved to work in the garden, help neighbors, being outdoors and cleaning up the river with Friends of the North Fork.

Surviving, along with his mother, are three sisters, Martha H. Dalton of Woodstock, Barbara A. Huss of Warrenton and Cindy L. Huss of Woodstock; niece, Elizabeth (Beth) P. Dalton of Woodstock, Nephew, Frederick (Rick) J. Dalton of Woodstock and beloved pets, Windy and Abby.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice.
