Keith Allen Steele

Keith Allen Steele, 61, of Woodstock passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015 surrounded by family and friends at his residence on Ridgeley Road in Woodstock.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 15th, 2015 at 3pm at Valley Pike Church of the Brethren located at 83 Headley Road, Maurertown, Va.  Pastor Jonathan Fletcher will officiate. A meal will be provided by the members of Valley Pike Church following the service.

Keith was born April 5th, 1954 in Woodstock, VA, son of the late Zona Steele of Woodstock, Va.

Keith retired as a supervisor from the Virginia Department of Transportation where he worked for 32 years. During his tenure he worked at several area headquarters in the Edinburg Residency, but mainly in the Stephens City headquarters.

Before his illness Keith was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an active member of Valley Pike Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lorraine Gochenour Steele, who he married on November 17, 2001, daughter of Lewis Ford and Eva Racey Gochenour, and son, Noah Lewis of Woodstock, Va., and sons Keith Eugene Steele of Maurertown, Va.; Joe Allen Steele and Kelli, of Strasburg, Va.; daughter Brittany Nichole Steele and Cameron of Woodstock, Va.; Grandsons Landon Steele, Cody Steele-Martynuik and Christopher Wetzel.

Keith is also survived by his brother Terry Steele and Dawn of New Market, Tenn.; three sisters, Sandra Riggleman and husband Carl of Edinburg, Va.; Brenda Steele of Edinburg, Va.; and Melissa Freze and husband John of Woodstock, Va.; Nephews Aaron Rickard, Jeffrey Stinson, Jonathan Freze, Carl Riggleman Jr., and Nieces Rhonda Slayton, Rebecca Rickard, Valerie Dillon and Tiffany Plue.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Zona Steele, of Woodstock, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, Va. 22601 or the Love Fund at Valley Pike Church of the Brethren.
