Larry Allen Racey

Larry Allen Racey, 75 of Woodstock, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.

Mr. Racey was born June 27, 1941 in St. Luke, son of the late Katherine G. Racey Orndorff.

He was a charter member of the Woodstock Moose Lodge # 575.

He was a member of Saint Luke Brethren Church.

Mr. Racey is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hottel Racey whom he married June 25, 1961.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sharon M. Hollar of Edinburg; a son, Steven Edward Racey (Ann) of Woodstock; a half-sister, Anna Ruffner; a half- brother, Ray Orndorff; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Allen Racey.

A graveside service will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodstock Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements are by Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.

    Stevie and family, I’m so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. I had such fun out there butchering deer. Larry was one of a kind and he’ll be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Larry was a very dear and special friend. Since we moved to Tennessee 9 years ago, I am so sorry to say that we lost touch, however, whenever I was in we always stopped by the see Larry and Carolyn. He always and a smile and a kind word. He never just sat around, he was always into something, butchering deer, working garden or cleaning up . We will remember all the many great times we had and the wonderful friend that he was to us.
