Lelia Janet Simon

Lelia Janet Simon, 91 of New Market,died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Shenandoah Place in New Market.

Mrs. Simon was born July 8, 1922 in New Market, daughter of the late Bernie and Eva Mae Rhinehart Weaver.

She retired after 52 years at Hearty Virginia, Inc.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Forestville.

She was married November10, 1960 to Winton W. Simon who survives. Also surviving are a stepson, Robert W. Simon of Lexington; a sister, Helen Lutz of Mt. Jackson; two step grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with the Rev. James B. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Foltz, Gary Lloyd, Ray Fadely, Kenny Knupp, Adam Foltz , Dave Garber and Roger Lloyd.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    I extend my heartfelt sympathy to you at the passing of Janet. There is no bond so deep as that of a man and his wife. I cannot begin to imagine the pain that you are experiencing now, but I know that our Heavenly Father will be with you to strengthen and support you as you go through this stressful time.
