Leonard E. Bean, 90, of Ox Road in Woodstock, died early Saturday morning, November 19, 2016 at Consulate Care of Woodstock.
Len was a native and nearly lifelong resident of Claremont, New Hampshire, born on September 14, 1926, the son of Edward and Eve (Chartier) Bean. He was an operating room medic on the USS, Macon during World War II.
The surviving family includes one daughter, Joanne LaFlam and her husband, Arthur of Woodstock, VA; one son, Eric Bean and his wife, Katrina of Portsmouth, NH; five grandchildren, Scott LaFlam, April Bean, Heather Kontoes, Michelle Dow and Eric Bean; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased in 2007 by his wife, Gertrude (Condon) Bean, whom he had married October 20, 1945; and by one sister, Sylvia Condon.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church, Rev. Michael Dobbins, officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Church in Claremont, NH followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
