Lois Marie Kagey Bowman, 80, of Edinburg, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her home. The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Edinburg United Methodist Church. Reverend Steve McMillion will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery in Edinburg.
Mrs. Bowman was born March 26, 1932 in Edinburg, daughter of the late Carl Franklin and Gladys Marie Lantz Kagey. She was a 1949 graduate of Edinburg High School and formerly worked at Windsor Knit in Edinburg and retired from Shenandoah County Public School System where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and Woodstock and Edinburg Senior Fellowship. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dale Swope, Phyllis Rice and Betty Fravel and one brother, Bud Kagey.
Lois is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Wayne Bowman whom she married on September 16, 1949; two daughters, Sharon Marie Privia of Round Hill and Vicky Bowman of Edinburg; two sons, Steven Bowman of Edinburg and Alan Bowman and his wife Sue of Greenville, NY; one brother, Robert Kagey of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Edinburg High School Class of 1949 will attend as a group.
The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Richard and Lois in Edinburg.
