Manuel Salazar

Manuel Salazar 89, CPO USN (Ret.) died on Thursday, June 6, 2013 after a long illness. Devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather, Manuel Salazar is a WWII Veteran and served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He later served under six Presidents in the White House after retiring from the Navy.

Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Salazar; five children, Michael, Mark, Lynne, Marie, and Kelly; three grandsons, Michael, Matthew, and Mark Salazar.

A private Mass will be held at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock, Virginia with interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

    So, so sad to her of Sal’s passing.
    I worked at The White House with Sal for years. I haven’t seen him probably since he retired, but there was always a place in my heart for him and I thought about him often. He always had us in stitches; always so funny and I know everyone at work loved him, as I did. How could you help not love the guy? He was Sal!!
    My deepest condolences to the whole family.
