Mary Bowers Miller Shipp

Mary Bowers Miller Shipp, 94 of Woodstock passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Greenfield of Woodstock. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens. Reverends George Bowers and Joe Fleming will officiate.

Mrs. Shipp was born on July 16, 1921 in Shenandoah County. She was the daughter of the late James and Lillian Craun Bowers. She worked with her father at the B&B Market in Maurertown and later for Leggett Department Store in Woodstock where she retired after 18 years. She was a faithful member of Saumsville Christian Church. Mrs. Shipp was preceded in death by her husband Granville W. Miller and later by Clyde H. Shipp; a daughter, Shirley Smoot; 2 brothers, Ralph D. Bowers and James D. Bowers and a step grandson, Franklin Shipp.

She is survived by a son, Robert Danny Miller and wife Sharon; 4 grandchildren, Michael Scott Miller, Susan Miller, Cynthia Grandstaff and Lorrie Dickenson; great granddaughter, Andrea Barton; great great grandson, Brentley Barton step son, Carson Shipp; 2 step grandsons, Aaron and Travis Shipp; a sister, Ruth Fogle of Winchester, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Richard Fogle, Charles Fogle, Franklin Fogle, Jimmy Bowers, Dale Bowers, and Bruce Bowers.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Saumsville Christian Church Building Fund 2035 Saumsville Road, Maurertown, Virginia 22644, Woodstock Rescue Squad P.O. Box 221 Woodstock, Virginia 22664 or Blue Ridge Hospice 333 West Cork St. Winchester, Virginia 22601.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 17 from 6:30-8:00 at the funeral home.
