Mary Francelia Barb Funkhouser

Mary Francelia Barb Funkhouser, 81, of Grottoes, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Funkhouser was born February 29, 1932 in Jerome, daughter of the late Jerry and Winnona May Riggleman Barb.

She was a retired cashier from Roses in Harrisonburg.

She was a member of Grottoes Baptist Church.

Mrs Funkhouser was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Oneal Funkhouser.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara F. Snyder of Grottoes; a son, Gary Oneal Funkhouser of Grottoes; a granddaughter, Jennifer Elaine Filler and husband Chad of Grottoes; two great granddaughters, Journey Filler and Gracie Filler; and her long time companion, David Lam of Naked Creek.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Basye with the Rev. David Drebes officiating. Burial will follow at Prince of Peace Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Funkhouser, Michael Funkhouser Wayne Barb, Philip Barb, Jr., Jerry Carper and Frank Swink.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson

    To those in the family, I am sorry to hear of Mary’s passing away. I was one of her supervisors at Roses between 1993 & 1996. I remember her as a very good employee and one who always had a very friendly smile and kind word, even in sometimes stressful times. I pray that God will fill the void that she leaves with His Presence.

    So sorry to hear of mary’s passing. I worked with Mary back in the 70′s at Bridgewater sewing factory She was always a very dear friend to me. We will all miss her.
