Matricia L. (Micki) King

Matricia L. (Micki) King 76 of Star Tannery passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church with Father Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Springs Cemetery.

Micki was born January 31, 1939 in Washington D.C. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Elsie Vogel King. She recently retired from Exxon Mobile as a contractor after 20 years of service. In her earlier career, she worked on Capitol Hill Smithsonian and other Washington D.C. historical places. Micki was a corresponding secretary and scrapbook chairman for Shenandoah Garden Club. She was very active in SGC and participated in all of their events. She loved gardening, German Shepherds, horses and wildlife. In earlier days she rode and trained horses and she had several German shepherd dogs who lived to be 13-14 years old.

Micki is survived by her twin sister, Patricia A. King of Star Tannery and a cousin Arlene Orlando of Mt. Airy Maryland.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 with a Rosary Service at 7:00.
