Michael Allen Jenkins

Michael (Mike) Allen Jenkins, 38 of Woodstock went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 1, 2011.

A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Jerome by Pastor William Ballance on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins was born on August 8, 1972 at Woodstock, Virginia. He was the son of Debra Jenkins Mauck.

He was formally employed by D.L.B. in Hillsville and North American Housing in Strasburg. He helped to open and operate Family Business Homeplace II Antiques and Collectibles in Woodstock. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jerome. He was also a member of the USBC and loved to bowl. He was a member of the Friday night Funnies and Sunday Holy Rollers Leagues at Mt. View Lanes. He was a member of the NRA and loved to hunt and fish. He loved to play games on Pogo and started an online league, Crazy Rebels. He will be sadly missed by his online family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Alvin Mauck, Sr. and an infant son.

On September 18, 1993, he married Becky Barb Jenkins.

Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his grandmother, Mary Jenkins of Mt. Jackson; A step sister, Shawna Racey of Edinburg; a step brother, Alvin Mauck, Jr. of Woodstock; an aunt, Linda Jenkins Lutz; an uncle, George Freddie Jenkins; Nieces, Sarah Barb of Edinburg, Kelsey Powers-Barb of New Market, Krista Barb of New Market, Ashlen Mauck of Winchester; nephews, Cody Barb of Edinburg, Allan Barb of New Market, Jeremy Racey of Edinburg; Also his beloved dog Bubba.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock. Pallbearers will be Robbie Grandstaff, Alvin Mauck, Jr., Jeremy Lutz, Shelby Hansen, Rick Racey, and John Coffman. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.

His family wishes to express their gratitude to the Woodstock Rescue Squad, Dr. Jeff Berry, and the ER staff at SMH for doing all they did.

 The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Woodstock Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 221, Woodstock, Virginia 22664.

    Things are not the same without you. I’ll miss ya. I wish I known you guys along time ago. Kills me that I never got the opportunity to meet ya face to face. But we will always look after Becky and be there for her. I consider you guys as my family. And family’s stick together no matter what. I know we have never met face to face.       becky i know up front what its like to loose a love 1 but mike was 1 of a kind me met every morning and talk about what to come for that day i could always go to him for anything and he was always there i look up to him i will miss him when i wanted to give up mike always had time to talk to me he was a great man and i know a great family man becky keep strong i know its hard but think mike would want you to be strong i love you and mike you both are a part of my life and for that i say thank you robert allen hanvey
