Mildred Phyllis Ciuffreda

Mildred Phyllis Ciuffreda, 87, of Fort Valley, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Ciuffreda was born November 14, 1928 in Fort Valley, daughter of the late Philip Elmer Heishman, Sr. and Melinda Caroline Elizabeth Carpenter Heishman.

She was a graduate of Edinburg High School.

She was a former employee of Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., Statler Hotel in California, a practical nurse at the Episcopal Hospital in Washington, D.C., National President Club Banquet Department in Washington, D.C. for three years, and owner and operator in Los Angeles, California of Phyllis’s Coffee Shop for four years.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Fort Valley. She was also a member of NARFE.

Mrs Ciuffreda was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore Ciuffreda.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth Hollar; three brothers, Philip E. Heishman, Jr., Charles Heishman, Cecil Heishman and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her niece and care giver, Hannah Crisman. She was loved by so many.

Mrs. Ciuffreda was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Gingerich and Ellanora McClanahan.

A funeral service will be held Monday, August 8, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Shelby Depriest officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Allen Gingerich, Phil Heishman, Steve Heishman, Bill Mantz, Larry Heishman and Mary Makely.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
