Nannie Rebecca Seal Bowman

Nannie Rebecca Seal Bowman of Edinburg, VA passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Washington Hospital.  She entered into her heavenly home and into the waiting arms of Jesus and all her loved ones who had gone on before.  The funeral will be held Friday, March 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.  Reverends William Fitchett and Earl Painter will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock.

Nannie was born February 2, 1932 in Shenandoah County, daughter of the late Jonie Seal and Kathryn George Seal.  She was the wife of the late Harold L. Bowman.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Bowman Huffman; brothers, Ray, Calvin and Garland Seal and sisters, Shirley Fadely and Carolyn Miller.

She is survived by her son, Gerald L. Bowman and wife Renee of Winchester; granddaughters, Emily MacDowell and husband Colin and Lindsey Huffman and fiancé Matt Eaton Jr. all of Woodstock and Katie Bowman of Stephen City; great granddaughters Kali, Aubrey and Ashlyn; sisters, Louise Arigot of Hillsdale, NJ, Fay Neff and husband Floyd of Woodstock; brother-in-law, Dean Fadely of Woodstock and many nieces and nephews.

Nannie was a homemaker, but she had worked at Blue Bell, Bowmans Apple Sauce Plant, Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and the Virginia Truck Stop.  She was a lifetime member of the Columbia Furnace Church of the Brethren.  She met and loved many people and led some of her friends to the Lord. She had a smile for everyone she met and befriended many strangers and spoke of the Lord to them.

Pallbearers will be Doug Doman Jr., William “Buster” Doman, Dean Fadely, Brian Doman, Kevin Crites and Robert Crites.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    My deepest sympathy to Nannie’s family. Harold was my half brother and Nannie my sister-in-law. She was a very happy and sweet person. I know she is in heaven with Jesus and her loved ones. Love to all of You. Joan

    Nannie was a wonderful neighbor and friend.She was a true believer in the Lord and was constanly praying for her friends and family. She will be missed,but I know she is in a better place, My prayers are with the family.

    Aunt Nanny I really hate that you had to go but, I know you are with the Lord, your Mom and Dad, Uncle Harold, Barbara, your brothers and sisters, and many other loved ones all together in heaven.
