Benjamin Mace Obituary

Benjamin “Ben” Tucker Mace, 34, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Ben was a Christian, beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle, and father.

Ben’s deep faith in his Lord and Savior was the foundation for a life well-lived.

Ben was born on May 12, 1989, in Harrisonburg, VA to Daniel and Ronda Grove Mace. He was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, in Quicksburg, VA and Radford University graduating cum laude with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2011.

Ben began his professional career with AstraZeneca as a customer service representative from 2012-2016.

Ben’s true professional passion was law enforcement. He was a Jail Officer at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center in Winchester, VA from 2016-2023. Ben was recognized in 2017 at the Annual Law Enforcement Recognition Ceremony by US House of Representative, Barbara Comstock for his exceptional performance, invaluable service, and commitment to the community. Ben made many friends and built lasting relationships with his coworkers and fellow officers.

Ben was an avid outdoorsman and was passionate about deer and turkey hunting with his grandfather, brother, and friends in Yellow Springs WV. He was the current president of the Yellow Springs Hunt Club and forged many lasting friendships over the years. Every year while others failed, Ben always got the big buck, much to the envy of his hunting buddies.

Ben was active in financial investing and was a helpful resource to others with their investments.

Ben, his brother, and father enjoyed Boy Scouts and he worked diligently and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.

Ben is survived by his parents of Mt Jackson, VA; a brother, Jacob Mace (Kayla) of Waynesboro VA; grandparents, Ronald, and Shirley Grove of Winchester; his soulmate, Leah Adams of Fort Valley, VA; son, Hunter William Mace; nephew and niece, Forest and Elaine Mace of Waynesboro, VA; and a large extended family with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and spouses.

Ben is predeceased by his grandparents, Herman and Lillian Mace of Grottoes, VA.

A service will be held at Antioch Covenant Brethren Church in Woodstock VA 22664 on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:00AM.
