Constance "Connie" Carrol Obituary

Constance “Connie” Carrol passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2024 surrounded by family after a sudden decline in her health. Connie was born on November 17, 1954 in Arlington, Virginia.

She is survived by her loving partner of 27 years,  Armando Arroyo, her sister, Terry Brown, (Frank), brother, Arthur “Tykie“ Carrol , and sister, Chrissy Warner (Chuck), one nephew, five nieces, four great nieces, and four great nephews. Her smile and infectious laughter will be greatly missed.

Connie was predeceased by her father Arthur Carrol, her mother Sarah Carrol,  her sister Helen Carrol,  and her nephew, Michael Warner.

Connie had a very happy childhood and was proud of her many accomplishments through those early years and through her high school graduation.  Her past employment included working in administration for the World Wildlife Fund, the University of Florida, and for large construction firms in the Miami and Washington DC areas.  She was intelligent, artistic, and had an abundance of joie de vivre. She loved art, travel, cooking, hiking, astrology, music, dancing, languages, and she played the piano.

Connie loved nature and she loved adventure. She was a world traveler and even backpacked through Greece by herself. She was extremely proud of her Greek heritage and studied the language. She and Armando lived in Peru for four years and lived in Spain, France, and Greece. She traveled to Jordan and Italy, and also many places in the states. She had a deep love for the mountains and her last years were spent near family and her roots in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley.

Connie deeply loved and was so proud of her family, nieces, nephews and cousins. She had a circle of friends from all over the world that she cherished.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring. Memorial donations may be made in Connie‘s name to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 Cork St., Unit 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
