Paul E. Meadows, 79 of Quicksburg, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Meadows was born on September 9, 1935 in Virginia, son of the late Ardelia Meadows.
He was a member of Valley Central Church in New Market and attended Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Tenth Legion.
He worked for Holtzman Oil Corp for 34 years with two million safe driving miles and prior to that
he worked for Shen-Valley Meat Packers for 18 years with one million safe driving miles.
Mr. Meadows was preceded in death September 3, 2013 by his wife, Janette J. Meadows, whom he married October 6, 1956.
He is survived by a son, Willie Meadows and wife Tracy of Quicksburg; a daughter, Jane McDaniel and husband Walter of New Market; two sisters Hilda Lloyd and husband Herman of Quicksburg and Reva Breeden of Elkton; a brother-in-law John L. Whitmer and wife April of Edinburg; and three grandchildren Dylan Meadows, Ashley Meadows, and Brandon McDaniel.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Bethany McDaniel and two brothers, Elvin Meadows and Donnie Meadows.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ron Baptie, Charles White, Grayson Getz, Larry Pirtle, Calvin Lokey and Jason Miller. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Armentrout, Jim Lam, Carroll Lam, Dennis Wakeman, Dean Rinker, William B. Holtzman, Todd Holtzman, Donnie Pifer, Rick Koontz, Darren Swartz, and Johnny McDonald.
The family will receive friends Friday 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home or anytime at Paul’s home.
