Raymond Ellsworth Brill, 84, of Star Tannery, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at his home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock. Pastors Larry Cook and Rex Lehigh will officiate. Burial will follow on his farm in Star Tannery. There will be a reception following the burial at Star Tannery Volunteer Fire Department Dinner Hall.
Mr. Brill was born December 22, 1930 in Star Tannery, son of the late Albert Lee Brill and Rosa Bell Orndorff Brill. He formerly hauled apples for Bowmans and formerly worked at Talberts Construction. He owned a saw mill and cut and sold firewood. He retired as a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Himelright Brill and brother, Percy Arlington Brill.
He is survived by his son, Dennis Odell Brill and his significant other, Peggy LaFollette of Star Tannery; daughter, Rosie Bell Graber and husband Shawn Lee Graber of Star Tannery and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Johnson, Mike Nelson, Doug Veach, Pat Chewning, John Mumaw and Billy Rudolph.
Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Hott, Gerald Hott, Gary Lindstrom, Steve Helsley, Matt Helsley, Donnie Semler, Carlton Orndorff and Larry McIlwee.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Star Tannery Fire and Rescue, Gravel Springs Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
