Roberta Emily Spence, 91 of Quicksburg, died December 6, 2017 at Sunnyside Communties in Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Spence was born April 27, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Robert Able and Magdalene Themer Higdon.
She was a member of Quicksburg United Methodist Church. She also was a member of Edinburg Senior Center.
Mrs. Spence was married October 3, 1960 to Clyde Robert Spence who preceded her in death November 2, 2004.
She is survived by a daughter, Nina Baker of Woodstock; two sons, Daniel Higdon and wife Sheila of New Market and David Higdon and wife
Chong of Clarksville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson with the Rev. Darwin Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Jackson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Bynaker, David Vann, Dustin Bynaker, Travis Rodriguez, Daniel Higdon, David Higdon and Jonathan Higdon.
Honorary pallbearers will be D. J. Higdon, Mun Higdon and Yong Higdon.
The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
