Rodelle Elizabeth Hansberger Rinker, 91 of Mount Airy, MD, died Saturday, January 08, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD.
Mrs. Rinker was born August 16, 1919 in Jerome, VA daughter of the late James F. and Hattie Funkhouser Hansberger.
Mrs. Rinker was married 68 years to Victor Galen Rinker who survives. Also surviving are three sons, David (Ann Patrice) Rinker of Glen Burnie, MD, Everett (Janet) Rinker of West Friendship, MD and Roger (Ann) Rinker of Mount Airy, MD; two sisters, Frances Case of Upper Marlboro, MD and Louise Hawkins of Edinburg; two brothers, Buford Hansberger of Severn, MD and Bobby H. Hansberger of Edinburg; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters, Preston Hansberger, June Brown and Kathleen Lantz.
Mrs. Rinker was a lifelong Lutheran, current member of Light of Christ Lutheran Church, New Market, MD. She was very proud of her volunteer work, especially having spent every Thursday working at the National Lutheran Home in Rockville for 20 years. She was a very loving and giving person who was always willing to open her heart and home to anyone who needed a hot meal and a place to stay. She was a very devoted wife, mother and sister and will also be missed by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Jerome, VA with the Rev. Kathryn Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rinker, Timothy Rinker, Thomas Rinker, Seth Rinker, Daniel Kachura and Gary Pritchett.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock.
