Roy “Jake” McNair

Roy “Jake” McNair, 66, of Edinburg died Wednesday at his home.

He was born June 29, 1947 in Shenandoah County and was son of the late Warren and Helen Estep Miller.

He was a retired superintendent with W. A. Hazel, Inc.

He served in the Unite States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Massanutten Post # 2447 V.F.W. Edinburg and Mt. Jackson Moose Lodge # 979. He was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lana Silvious McNair; two sons, Scott Douglas McNair of Woodstock and Stacy Kendall McNair of Mt. Jackson; two sisters, Georgia Emerick of New Market and Nellie Manning of Maurertown; two grandchildren, Logan and Hayley McNair; and best friend, Sanity.

He was also preceded in death by a sister Lillie May Miller.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dellinger Chapel in Mt. Jackson with Rev. Glen Early officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hermon Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Massanutten Post # 2447 V.F.W. Edinburg.

Pallbearers will be Sean Miller, Jeff Manning, Barry Silvious, Gerald “Butch” Emerick, Ernest Moomaw, Jr. and Irvin Manning.

 The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
