Royston Lee Shiley, 80 of Edinburg, widower of Jean Rinker Shiley, died Monday, December 5, 2011.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011, 11:00 am at the Edinburg United Methodist Church by Rev. Steve McMillion. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
Mr. Shiley was born September 1, 1931 at Relief, Virginia, the son of the late James Samuel and Attie Newcombe Shiley. He served his country in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict. He worked as a salesman for the Irvin’s Candy Company. He was a member of the Edinburg United Methodist Church.
Mr. Shiley is survived by two daughters, Judy Thorpe of Woodstock, her companion, John Bauserman of Maurertown and Vickie Jean Shiley of Edinburg; a sister, Frances Eagle of Brunswick, MD; a granddaughter, Nicole Braithwaite and her husband, Clint of Gore and a great granddaughter, Sydney Jean Braithwaite.
The family will receive friend Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock.
